Meet Linda Bushnell – Le Bureau client spotlight of the month

I met Linda in 2013 when I was the Pilates Coordinator at Seattle Athletic Club.  She was one of my first private clients at this club!  She transitioned practicing with me at my home studio, Le Bureau, in 2016.

Linda has been a pleasure to work with over the years.   She is  thoughtful, positive, optimistic, always on time and keeps on moving!  She is an early riser, usually getting in a mile swim before she comes takes Pilates with me at 7am (used to be 6am).  Incredible, right?!  She is a Research Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Washington. She received her Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering and Computer Sciences from University of California – Berkeley in 1994.   Linda has many other notable awards and achievements, with her impressive career.

When Linda is not teaching, swimming, or practicing Pilates at Le Bureau, you may find Linda dancing at a local ballet class, playing the piano, baking sourdough bread, exploring the city she is in, tending her chickens and cats, or enjoying time with her family, including her two sons Mantas and Kipras and husband Radha .  Just recently, she has moved to Washington DC and will be working there for the next 2 years.  Fortunately, she is able to  visit Seattle once a month and that means I can still see her for Pilates! Have I mentioned yet that both of her sons are getting married this year too?!  It’s an understatement that Linda has a lot going on!

Thank you Linda, for being an uplifting start to my Tuesday mornings.  I look forward to our sessions together and learning about your new adventure(s) and or recipe(s) you are trying out. You inspire me to keep learning and try new things.

“I have been taking ballet classes since age 9 but only started taking Pilates mat classes after my second son, Kipras, was born. I used to take him to the class with me. The Pilates mat classes strengthened my core and since then, I have not had any back pain (which was common for me before that). I did not start using the PIlates machines until I met Brooke at the SAC-Northgate. I did individual sessions and also duets (with John, who also works with Brooke) and also took Brooke’s “Pilates Fusion” exercise classes. I enjoy the hard work at Le Bureau and know that I am getting a good core workout with Brooke’s guidance (and patience!). It is also fun to do duets with Carolyn and catch up on our adventures while drinking espressos in Brooke’s driveway before leaving.”
